Some penguins build nests of dirt, grasses or even stones. Penguins have been known to steal pebbles and stones for their nest. Females have been known to prostitute for them. Others simply pass one from their kidney. While this is quite painful, it is known to cause some penguins to have to reschedule holiday parties. Finally, you can say you know one such penguin!

So now that I have passed my 2 small and one larger stone, and I've stopped writhing in pain and crying mommy, I'm ready to party again! The tree is trimmed, the halls are decked and the deck is at the end of the hall. Fa la la la la, la la la la!

I told him it also makes a great sandwich. (the deli makes hot dishes as well as sandwiches.)

He gave me his addy so I could send a good recipe and I'll be suggesting he name it the Gibson, after me. So if you are ever in town and eat there and you see CFS or its sandwich it's my doing!

The Tex-Mex was wonderful (ate at Guerro's on Congress). I spent a few hours in Lampassas and ate a burger at Storm's. I'd forgotten how Texas also seems to have the best burgers. Oh, and having fried okra instead of fries was devine! While in Dallas I enjoyed some good BBQ complete with jalepeno's on the side. The lady I ordered from was impressed. I told her, when you get only home a few times a year, you've got to do it all the way!

One thing that scared me tho, was hearing 2 (two) people say they felt that Bush was a very honest president. Apparently a large rock has fallen on our beloved state and many people have chosen to live there. But that's another tribe...

It was hot and muggy as hell. The capitol is still beautiful. Oh, and check out my friends in the band, www.dreamtrybe.com. I got to hear them play just off 6th st. Mon night. It was good to hear them again and they have a new album coming out soon.

Hope we can all get together some day soon.

Ooh, can we go country line dancing???

So they can't do tex mex here, but at least there's a great BBQ joint. Memphis Minnie's on Haight. Brisket smoked 18 hrs, bbq sauce with butter in it. As good as Goode and Co. BBQ in Houston It isn't the cheapest place on earth though.

And if any of ya'll thought that with the name Memphis Minnie's they'd put coleslaw on the sandwiches like they do up in Tennessee, they don't.

Glad you guys are here. I feel so popular!!! I don't know if anyone here makes a good chicken fried steak, we may have to make that and enchaladas on our own. I have CFS from Chili's, not bad, but...

So here's my story, Born in Lubbock, moved to Houston at about 1year. My parents soos split up. about 12 years later I moved to Dallas and went to Skyline HS. Then off to U-Houston. Moved to Dallas a second time and then back to Houston once more. I moved out of Texas to Maryland in '95 and moved to SSF in 2000.

I hope to start having gatherings from time to time. Pot lucks, happy hours, dinners out and about. So come up with some ideas and recruit more fellow Texans.
